A series of science programs featuring high definition films, followed by discussions with Caltech scientists. The bi-annual Frank Capra Film Series features films in honor of the director and Caltech alumnus whose work united popular entertainment and social consciousness. The 08/09 series focuses on the Los Angeles experience by way of film. Each film will be followed by discussions featuring industry professionals and academics. |

Named for the late Earnest C. Watson, who founded the series in 1922, these lectures feature speakers from Caltech and JPL, speaking on cutting-edge research taking place at Caltech. No tickets or reservations are required. Through a gift from the estate of Richard C. Biedebach, the Watson Lecture Series has expanded to nine lectures annually. The Lagerstrom Chamber Music Concerts have offered intimate programs to music lovers from Caltech and the community in the acoustically marvelous and elegant setting of Dabney Lounge for more than half a century. No tickets or reservations are required. |

Artistic talent on the Caltech campus in showcased by a wide variety of performing groups: Caltech-Occidental Jazz and Concerts Bands, Caltech-Occidental Orchestra, Men's and Women's Glee Clubs, Student Chamber Music Ensembles, and Theater Arts at Caltech. |

Since 1981, the Caltech Folk Music Society has brought performers of acoustic music from around the world to perform at Caltech. The music ranges from bluegrass bands and British Isles music, to blues and Nueva Cancion. Tickets are required. |
